5/1 - Athens, Greece (Friday)

Today is a national holiday (Labor Day) so there was not much to do.  The kids used the time to catch up on math, science, reading, and writing.  Michael and I walked about two miles looking for a place to do laundry.  We finally found one that was open, next to the Athens Youth Hostel, who did three loads for 18 Euro.

Michael found an excellent vegetarian restaurant called Avocado.  It was a break-away from Greek food and one of the healthiest meals we've had.

The Fresh Hotel breakfast

Traditional cheeses and olives from Greece

The fruit bowl was delicious and fresh.

Roof top swimming pool

View of the Acropolis from the roof top.

The best part of Athens!  The sunny roof top with white cushions.

The Royal Mojito - everything plus Prosecco

Mis-leading!!!  The website had photos of washers and dryers.  Not only was it out of business, it's a cafe bar and mini restaurant.

We saw a lot of police officers walking around with riot shields.

Decrepit buildings everywhere

Avocado restaurant - I had a quinoa salad with avocado and lemon  dressing.

Michael had a tempeh noodle dish.
